Pin yourself on the World map

This week we have presented a new idea for our High School. It comes from a local library in Sweden (remember our school exchange with Pitea??) and it is very basic but really attractive and interesting. It is ideal for schools with loads of international connections (f. ex. students coming from different countries.)

We can display a big World map and give every foreign student a pin to show the place they come from. We can keep this map somewhere visible to everybody (and protected if necessary). Every school year we can add more pins until one day we realize how many people have attended our school!! There are also variations like pinning the places linked to your school for some reasons: language assistants who have worked with us, international projects, school exchanges, penpals, etc.
As we knew, most of our foreign students come from Eastern Europe (Romania, Ukraine, etc.), Northern Africa (Morocco) and South America (Ecuador, Colombia, etc.) No wonder this year's Multicultural Week is devoted to Ecuador.
